Graduate Employment Program

Our free Graduate Employment Placement Program is available to every Bedford student (and ex-student) and has proven to be a very successful method of work placement.

Bedford Graduates have excellent employment prospects and the vast majority of jobs come about as a direct result of Bedford's employer contacts.

The College maintains a network of employers who contact us when a position becomes available in their organisation and once received, job vacancies are entered into our Employment Register.

It's then the job of our Student Services Officer to liaise with students to find suitable candidates. These candidates then prepare an application letter which is forwarded - along with their résumé - to the employer, and an interview is arranged.

Some of the largest firms in Sydney visit Bedford College every year in order to recruit our graduates. (Malleson, Stephen, Jaques (the largest law firm in Australasia) and many other top tier firms choose Bedford Graduates when seeking new staff.

Bedford students are well prepared for the interview process with the aid of the following training:

  • Employer expectations (what employers are looking for)
  • successful interview techniques
  • appropriate questions and answers
  • interviewee behaviour (including use of appropriate body language)
  • how to make a good first impression
  • interview role playing
  • writing solicited and unsolicited job application letters
  • résumé preparation (creating a winning résumé)
