Entry Requirements
- High School graduation
- English language requirements (see below)
- Age - 18 years and over
- Personal interview for students currently located in Australia
- Telephone or agent interview may be required for students living outside Australia
English Language Requirements
International students whose first language is not English are required to have an (IELTS) International English Language Testing System score of at least 5.5 per band or an equivalent proficiency per band as shown in the table below.
- IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent)
- PTE Academic Minimum Pearsons Test of English (PTE) Academic Score of 42
- Australian matriculation English pass result
Enrolment Procedure
- Complete an International Student Enrolment Form and submit to the College along with all supporting documentation (as above)
- Enrolment applications are assessed by the Registrar and once the application has been approved an Enrolment Deposit of $250 is required in order to secure a place
- A Letter of Offer is provided to the student (or their agent) once the enrolment has been accepted by the College
- An eCoe is issued on receipt of the tuition fee as outlined on the Enrolment Form

Enrolment Form - International Student
Location
Centrally located in the Sydney CBD, Bedford College is directly opposite Sydney University and just a short stroll from the Broadway Shopping and Cinema Complex. Restaurants, Banks, Hairdressers, Post Office, etc are all only a few minutes walk from the College. We are five minutes by bus from Central Railway Station and the bus stops at the door.

Business/Finance Campus (Level 1)
Completely re-furbished in 2004, the business/finance campus is light, airy and ultra modern and the training facilities and resources are exceptional. The business campus includes a Student Common Room (table tennis & board games etc), full kitchen and a Student Study Room. Child Care Campus (Ground Floor)
The Child Care Campus was purpose built in 2005 to replicate a real-life child care centre where students learn in a simulated child care setting. Accommodation
At Bedford College, we are more than happy to assist you with locating accommodation for your period of study with us. We have links with several accommodation providers in Sydney.
If you decide to stay in student accommodation, prices range from $170 a week to $300 per depending on where you choose to stay.
One of these providers is Flo Harris Lodge based in Lewisham which is approximately 10 minutes from Bedford College. Flo Harris has been associated with the College for many years and has been home to many Bedford students.
You may also have the opportunity to stay with an Australian family whilst you study. This is available through the Homestay accommodation provider.

Expulsion
Bedford College reserves the right to expel students for any serious breaches of discipline (See Enrolment Form).
Grievance and Appeal
The College has support and welfare systems in place to support students and endeavours to address concerns and disputes in a friendly and informal manner. However, should this not be possible, the College has a Fair Treatment Policy in place to which all staff and students have access.
Grievance and Appeal Policies for both academic and non-academic matters provide students with the procedures to follow when utilising these policies.
Whilst the College endeavours to resolve disputes informally in-house, students are provided with access to a third party negotiator if they so wish. No cost is made to the student for this service.
Please Note: It is the policy of the College to resolve conflicts in a timely manner (usually within 20 days of lodgement). Students who are enrolled at the College when the grievance is lodged, may continue their enrolment whilst the Grievance is under investigation.

All new students will undertake an orientation program prior to course commencement. Activities include:

Personal and Contact Details
Students have an obligation to notify the College as soon as practicable of any change of address while enrolled in a course.
Personal information about international students studying with Bedford College may be shared with the Australian Government and designated authorities, including the Tuition Assurance Scheme and the ESOS Assurance Fund Manager. This information includes personal and contact details, course enrolment details and changes, and the circumstance of any suspected breach of a student visa conditions.
Payments and Fees
Fees are due and payable for the full course but may be paid per term as outlined in the Overseas Student Enrolment Form.

The cost of textbooks and stationery will be charged to your student account and become payable on the date noted on the invoice/statement.
School-aged Dependents
If you are a current or intending overseas student please be advised that Australian law mandates your obligations to ensure that any *school-aged dependents accompanying you must be enrolled into a school.
- In the state of New South Wales, school-age as not less than six (6) nor more than sixteen (16) years of age.
Your options for the schooling of your school-aged dependents are:
- Government Schools - search for a government school in the state of New South Wales
- Non-Government Schools (including schools of different religions ) - search for a non-government school in the state of New South Wales

Welfare Services
At Bedford College we aim to provide a warm, friendly environment for students. Most students find that they make friends very quickly and get support from teachers, student services and other students when necessary. Students may require counselling services to assist with course progress and attendance requirements, accommodation issues or personal issues.
Academic Counselling
Bedford College will make every effort to assist students who require help in the learning process.
Advice on academic issues can be provided by individual teachers, the Deputy Principal (Business Courses) or the Child Care Coordinator (Children’s Services Courses).
Personal Counselling
Some students may experience unexpected personal problems when studying - particularly if the student is new to Sydney and living away from home, friends and family - and this is where counselling may help,
Counselling can be for a variety of reasons, such as difficulty structuring a study routine, problems adjusting to living away from home, or other personal issues.
A list of counselling services is available on Bedford Online (Moodle) and most of these services are free of charge. If you would like to arrange a Counselling Appointment, you may contact the Principal who will confidentially assist you.
