Thank you for your interest in courses at Bedford College. I’m delighted that you’ve taken the time to view our website and hope it may help you decide to make Bedford your first choice when it comes to your future training needs.
At Bedford, we believe that we are unique. The College is a not-for-profit organisation with an enviable reputation as a provider of quality training in a caring, environment.
Whilst our students include individuals from almost every background, culture and belief, our Christian ethos makes us a little different from other colleges. We are ethical in our dealings with students and stakeholders and due to our small class sizes every student is treated as an individual.
As Principal my door is always open to students, whether wishing to discuss the course, personal concerns or simply to pass the time of day. It’s true to say that at Bedford, students are our number one priority.
We are all aware that today’s corporate world is a very competitive place and organisations are increasingly seeking employees with ‘the right attitude’. In an effort to address this, we focus on the whole individual, not just the skills needed for work.
Our students are encouraged to develop and demonstrate an attitude that’s appealing to prospective employers. This includes respect for others, honesty, integrity, loyalty and a strong work ethic. These attributes are important in our work life and also in our personal life – they help us to be successful individuals.
Whilst the College is now in its 73rd year, we’ve been vigilant in our efforts to stay abreast of the changes in the world of business today. The Business and Management courses include advanced levels of computer training and also many additional subjects that are useful ‘life skills’ – no matter what career path our graduates eventually take. Communication skills (written and verbal), time management, teamwork, stress management, business etiquette, conflict resolution, public speaking, presentation skills, job seeking, budgeting, finance, researching, customer service, to name just a few, are skills that are utilised forever.
Early Childhood Education Courses
Successful employment outcomes have always been a priority at Bedford College and in 2005 we recognised the need for high-quality training in the Children’s Services sector.
With more and more parents today working full-time, child care is obviously a high-growth industry. The need for qualified workers is growing rapidly and will continue to grow well into the foreseeable future.
Designed to replicate an up-market Child Care Facility, our purpose-built Child Care Campus provides early childhood education students with what is arguably the latest, most modern training facility available today.
New Norwest Campus
For several years now we’ve been asked why we don’t open a second campus so that our courses are available to students from a wider geographical area.
So, we did our research and we came up with the idea of a second campus in Norwest – an area of Sydney that has experienced enormous growth over the past decade.
The new Norwest Campus opened in January 2014 and we are extremely excited to be providing training to students in a beautiful new campus in the North West of Sydney.
Perhaps one of the most important considerations when choosing a training provider is the ability for graduates to gain automatic entry (with credit) into a university degree at the end of their diploma course.
Many students really don’t know what they want to do after leaving school and others just don’t get the ATAR they need to go straight into a university degree program. This is where we can help.
Our formal articulation agreements with universities mean that our graduates have options.

Our Graduates Have the Edge
And finally, our graduate success rate. In order to provide our graduates with the best possible opportunity to achieve employment success, we liaise regularly with our employer associates to make certain that we are providing our students with the skills and knowledge that employers are seeking – those that will give Bedford Graduates ‘The Edge’ in employment success.
At Bedford we are proud of our high standards and we believe that the quality of training we provide is second-to-none. Our excellent graduate employment success rate speaks for itself.
I do hope that you decide to undertake your training with us. Please feel free to come in and visit the College, meet our friendly staff and see what we have to offer – you can be assured of a warm welcome.
May I take this opportunity to wish you all the best in all your endeavours. I sincerely hope that you achieve well in the future. I look forward to meeting you soon.
