CHC40221 Certificate IV in School Based Education Support
- 12 month duration
- Part-time study available
Modes of delivery
Domestic students:
- Online: Students are provided with a training plan that sets out a course structure for students to follow at their own pace
- Blended: combination of self-paced online and face-to-face learning
Entry requirements
Domestic students:
- Successful completion of Year 10 (or equivalent)
- No ATAR is required
- Applicants undertake a Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment for the College to determine the level of assistance needed to support the student.
Career outcomes
Certificate 4 in education support students who complete a certificate in education will be able to support and assist with student learning, offering additional learning support to foster holistic development of school age children. Graduates can go into roles in a formal education environment.

Work placement
Bedford will collaborate with students and support them to find a suitable work placement location.

Certificate IV in School Based Education Support course includes a practical component within a school context. Education support students will compliment their learning by meeting the mandatory 100 hours of work placement.
Note: For students over the age of 18 years who engage in child-related work, must by law a hold a valid and current Working with Children Check. before attending work placement.

Some of our graduates choose to undertake further study upon completion of their certificate in education or undertake the Certificate IV in School Based Education Support (CHC40221) with the Diploma of School Age Education and Care (CHC50221).
